Some guys from Cities XS and I are creating a new building set.
Buildings in the Barock/Renessaince Style.
It would be great if you create a building for that style.
The Hamburger Rathaus:

try to add more different buildings to the living area because you get bored after looking more as 5 days on the same buildings
the graphics are the only thing that makes it interesting ( the buildings I mean by this )
sow people, pleas add a few normal buildings to, not only monuments ;)

tnx :D

I actually request props and fixes, rather than buildings. Most of these stuff is transit related.

1. More stoplights. Currently there are only two in each style: a single one at the roadside and a overhanging one with two stoplights. I would like to see designs with 3, 4 or 5 overhanging stoplights.

2. More and better streetlight props. The current streetlight props are quite cartoonly and out of place, especially the lights for the US-styled roads. For instance, streetlights in the US tend to look like this:
Image

And please, please replace these lights (lights on the road on the left, because they're out of place at any kind of road. Just an arm-mast streetlight will be fine:

3. Better road markings. The UK and US set have some silly road markings:
- The small avenues of the UK road set have silly markings that make no sense. It looks like a wide two-lane road, while it's actually a four-lane road. It would be better if they look more like the small avenues from the French and German set.
- Remove the crosshatching markings at the intersections of the UK road set.
- The US 2-lane roads and 4-lane divided avenues are missing markings. The 2-lane road should have yellow double-solid median lines and the 2-lane one-way roads and 4-lane avenues white dotted lines. The problem is however that they use the same texture for these two road surfaces and the streets.
- The line spacing at all freeways is way too small. Stretch them 3 or 4 times.

4. More freeway options. Speaks for itself. We would like to see more freeway widths (2, 3, 5 and 6 lanes per direction) and interchanges (we're missing very common types, like the diamond interchange or the partial cloverleaf).

EDIT:
Also, I see a bright in the Modular Interchange System approach, which is used for the RealHighWay mod in SimCity 4. Rather than having prefab interchanges (which are quite static), this approach uses parts of interchanges, such as ramp interfaces, splitters and transitions. This will allow enourmous flexibility and crazy interchange designs, which are only limited by the players' imagination. This may however result into a menu filled with puzzle pieces, but trust me, if you go for the prefab-approach, the ammount of different interchanges would be even larger.

5. Working tunnel lights. Currently there are lights in the tunnels, but they don't work in any way. Funny enough they did work in one of the earlier builds of CXL'09...

EDIT:
6. Signage. There are some signs in the game (although unused), but signage is a neat way to add more realism and detail to cities. They don't need to be placed manually, but some ploppable signs would be nice...
Best,
Maarten

I suggest to have enough buildings for each main historic/architectural era, in order to see the evolution of the city trough time, i.e. ancient Roman, gothic, baroque, neoclassical etc. Cheers :)

Haha is this from SC2000?

I would like to see more statues and monuments... I think the game needs such structures (although they're not really buildings) so we can make our cities look more realistic.

Examples:

1. St Sophia Statue, Sofia, Bulgaria

2. Queen Victoria Statue, Buckingham Palace, London, UK

3. Cupid (Eros) Statue, Piccadilly Circus, London

4. Random Lion Statue, you can find them everywhere in Europe

I would like to see more examples of elegant American buildings.

Washington Mutual Tower (now 1201 Third Avenue)

Seattle City Hall

Painted Ladies

I have no clue how to resize my images so that they show.
