serial number

I installed the steam version of cities xl 2011 and hit play. a box comes up asking for a serial number that I never received. I don't know if this is given in an e-mail, or if it just takes a few days to take effect. I'v been trying to figure this out for 24+ hours now, and I still don't know what to do.

It took forever, but it finally worked. I copied and pasted that confirmation number about 20 times. Maybe I just got it right on accident, but either way, its working now.

I got the same issue but i deleted the email along time ago and only finished downloading the today.

Any ideas on who i should ring or email to get a new serial number???

To get your serial number for Cities XL 2011 on Steam:

1. Run Steam.
2. Click My games tab and right mouse click Cities XL 2011.
3. Click View game CD key.

and how about if I bought it from right here on this website? (pre-order, right when it was brand new, as a previous cities xl owner) - haven't played it for a while, picked it up again today and couldn't remember nor find the code required, anywhere (and I've changed my e-mail adress since)

The preorder function redirected buyers to another website. I am pretty sure about it since I preordered it having Cities XL 2009.

The serial number is in an email sent to you. Don't you have access to your previous email?

unfortunately, no. I cancelled my ISP subscription when I moved in january, and switched to another ISP and another e-maila dress. the old e-mail adress remained for a month I think, but now is gone. I also formated my old computer a while back, where I believe I may have saved some of the mails sent to the old adress (not sure if I ever kept it there though). Isn't it possible to switch e-mail adress on the account I bought the game by, using maybe my credit card number, and then get the serial number mailed to me again, on the new adress? Or maybe get it mailed to the billing adress (I've forwarded my physical mail for a year, so that would be no-problem).
Maybe I should go directly to support with this issue...

Hmm that's not very convenient or secure in my opinion. I recommend you sign up for a free email like Gmail (Google mail) so you don't have to change it in the future. I would assume it is much more secure than your ISP's email.

I don't think they can send it to you by post or another email for security reasons. And generally, serial codes are not retrievable. I hope they can help you though.
