Dear PresD, making the game to support multicore is nearly the same as destroying the bottom 20 floors without affecting the other 100.
Desktop:
Intel i3 2100; NVIDIA GeForce GTS450 1GB; Intel H67; 4GB Ram; 500GB HDD; 21.5" full HD; Windows 7 HP 64 bit

Laptop:
Asus A43S Intel i5 2450M, NVIDIA GT 630M; 4GB Ram, 500GB HDD; 14" HD; Windows 7 HP 64 bit

Dear mika, making the game multicore is FHI's last chance to save the game. However long/hard it is. Seems they dont have the technical know-how sadly!

Yeah, game so slow with big cities on 1 core on my quad modern PC. Is further game will use multicore and how long (for what version) we have to wait? Gonna to try Cities in.... maybe that game will be faster.

As I've stated earlier, I would gladly pay for a new version of the game if the "only" change was better utilization of the cpu-cores. A very good city builder that kind of seems to have lost its wind :\
