converting existing buildings

I am a creator of a city for another game, the Sims 3 and recently been working on converting deco buildings from Microsoft Flight Simulator X, and noticed that building in CXL are much more detailed and better quality. So here's my question - how to extract a mesh from e.g. the Transamerica Pyramid? And where to find the suitable texture?

I'm a complete newbie when it comes to CXL.
