This post will be updated regularly and contains links to all the mods that are at the moment available for CitiesXL 2011

Of course use them at your own risk. Please read the descriptions of these mods at their page to know how to install or if it's compatible with all the other mods.

Normal Mods:

Big harbor as landmark (povis123) ---The big harbor settings has been changed. It is now a landmark with the name "Yacht Club".

Cameramod (Haltendehand, Gobo77, Oliver) ---Adds nine new camara options and the option to tilt the camera in every position to the game

Easy Metro Construction (Elmo) ---Make the construction of Metros easier.

Extended harbor layers (Exalight) ---Extends the harbor layers on maps with existing ones.

Farm Filler (for merging farms) (One Billion Daleks) ---Enables you to merge farms of the same type together, to create the appearance of one larger farm[/i]

Increase Traffic Capacity (City Builder) ---General increase in all road traffic Capacity by about 10 to 15 percent

Infinte Trading with OmniCorp (tmxkn1) ---More capacity and cash for Omnicorp.

Larger Loans(City Builder) ---Add an option to take out a larger loan in Cities XL 2011.

Larger Plazas (Moaku) ---Allows you to build much bigger plazas.

Metro Usage Increase Mod (Elmo) ---This mod increases the number of people who would prefer to use your metro lines.

Modern Plaza Area, landmark layer (Loltak) ---Reactivates the white "landmark" effect of the Modern plaza area[/i]

More Metro and Bus Stops (Elmo) ---Allows you to build 200 Bus and Metro stations (instead of 40)

No Palm Trees on Avenue (Haltendehand) ---Removes the palm trees from the avenues.

Over Water Building Mod (Asterian) NEW! ---Buildings that you can lay on water

Over Water Plaza Mod (Asterian) NEW! ---Plazas that you can lay on water

Roads lined with palm trees (ieyasu) ---Adds streets with palm trees on the sidewalk.

Roads lined with poplars (ieyasu) ---Adds streets with poplars on the sidewalk.

Report-Patch (Karel53) ---Enable missing reports.

Snapping Streets and Heights Fix (Nashville Nelson) ---Decreases the radius for snapping streets (automatic "catching" of two adjoined streets).

Installing Mods:

Either use the mod manager listed above (recommended) or if you're keen to do it yourself (there's nothing difficult as long as you understand how file systems work) then follow these instructions by TickleOnTheTum:

1) Make sure the game is not running.
2) Download the Mod you want.
3) If it is a zip/rar file then extract the ____.patch file(s) inside.
4) Move the _____.patch file(s) to:

64 bit Operating System
C:\Program Files (x86)\Focus Home Interactive\Cities XL 2011\Paks

or

32 bit Operating System
C:\Program Files\Focus Home Interactive\Cities XL 2011\Paks


If the mod file is a ____.exe file (Eg. The Unlocker Mod 5) then you need to just run it as you would any program and follow the installation instructions...

Huh, i didnt even realize half of them existed :o I especially like the linear zoning mod!

Good to see this list on Cities XL forums.

One question remains for me, if we plan to move our cities from 2009 to 2011 it has been implied or suggested mods made for 2009 need to be removed from our cities. Ie. Delete any roundabouts before trying to convert them across. Is this still the case or should I be asking on a "mod by mod" basis? (Graphic mods like road textures won't matter, I was thinking more about things like boats, roundabouts and new buildings.)

Let me answer in this way:

Focus will not guarantee cities which have any modded content at all in them (fair enough).

Some modded content may work, some may not. it's only by trial and error that you'll know.

But yes, roundabouts for example would need to be removed.

Consider - roundabouts never worked properly, so the version of roundabouts in your old city may well not be quite like the version in your new city...

Modds that "add" things (add-ons) can be kept in the new paks folder and utilized again in the 2011 edition (new farms, new plazas, boats,...).

Modds that modify values of the game should not be kept since many functions have been updated - and you'll need to wait the updated version of the modd. (including cheats, unlockers, ... )

@Oliver: if you want I can send you the source html (?) code used... then you'll have only to translate names. Or, yes, you can copy links if you prefer.

You just have to make a "/" between .net and upload.
