MASSIVE lag when laying metro and buses

I noticed this problem back in XL 2012 and it's still there - why does the game lag so badly when laying metro/bus stops, and what are you doing to fix it?

Another thing - why is the metro so retarded? I managed to a line, eventually, but when attempting to lay another on the same route, this time in the opposite direction, the curve is suddenly too steep - what the hell is wrong with you people?
